Terms of Use
Last updated: July 8, 2026
How Many Paid is a game, played for entertainment only. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean the people who operate How Many Paid (see section 14). By visiting the site, creating an account, or making any payment, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use How Many Paid. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect about you and how it is used; it applies alongside these terms.
1. How Many Paid is a game, and nothing more
How Many Paid exists for fun and entertainment only. It is a game. To be completely clear, it is not, and must not be understood as, any of the following:
It is not a financial service, financial product, investment, security, savings plan, deposit, fund, or money transfer or payment service of any kind.
It is not advice. Nothing here is financial, investment, tax, legal, accounting, or educational advice, and nothing on the site should be relied on as advice or as financial education.
It delivers exactly one thing: a brief piece of on-screen digital content, the reveal of a number. Beyond that reveal it delivers no goods, no software, no downloads, no files, no subscriptions, and no other product, benefit, or return.
It is not a lottery, raffle, sweepstake, contest, wager, or game of chance. There is no draw, no odds, and no element of chance. Every player who pays sees the same kind of result: a number on the screen.
2. There is no return, no reward, and no payout
This is the most important thing to understand before you pay anything. There is no promise of any return. Making a payment never entitles you to receive money, profit, interest, a prize, a reward, winnings, goods, software, or anything else of value in return.
The only thing a payment does is reveal a number on your screen: how many people have paid that same amount. That on-screen reveal is the entire and only thing you receive. You are paying for a moment of entertainment, not for a product and not for a chance to gain anything.
There is no pot, pool, jackpot, dividend, shared fund, or prize money of any kind. Money you pay is never returned to you as winnings or a payout and is never paid out to any other player. It is not held for you, not invested on your behalf, and not redeemable for anything. (Refunds exist only in the limited cases described in section 3.)
You will never win money or anything else, because there is nothing to win. Do not play with any expectation of getting money back or coming out ahead.
Any goodwill gesture we may offer (for example, an optional message that invites you to get in touch) is a gift offered entirely at our discretion. It is not a prize, not winnings, not promised or guaranteed, and is not a return on, or reward for, any payment. We may change or withdraw it at any time, and nothing about it is owed to you.
3. Payments, our payment provider, and refunds
Payments are processed by Polar (polar.sh), our payment provider and the Merchant of Record for every purchase. Your card is charged by Polar, your bank or card statement will show Polarrather than How Many Paid, and the payment itself is also subject to Polar's own terms. Depending on your country, any applicable VAT or sales tax is either included in the price shown or added by Polar at checkout; the final amount is always shown to you before you confirm.
All payments are final. Because a payment reveals the number to you as soon as it is confirmed (usually within seconds), it cannot be undone, reversed, or returned once the reveal has been shown. Every payment is non-refundable.
By paying, you ask us to deliver the reveal immediately. If you live somewhere with a legal cooling-off right for online purchases (for example the EU or UK), you expressly agree that the reveal, which is digital content, is supplied to you immediately when you pay, and you acknowledge that you lose that cooling-off right once the reveal has been shown to you.
Only pay an amount you are completely comfortable spending purely for fun, with no expectation of ever getting it back. To the maximum extent permitted by the law that applies to you, no refunds or credits will be given. If you believe a payment was taken in error, contact us (section 14) before disputing the charge with your bank; where a refund is required by law or by Polar's own policies, it is issued through Polar. Disputing a charge for a reveal that was shown to you is a breach of these terms.
If a completed payment ever fails to produce your reveal within a reasonable time, contact us and we will put it right: we will grant the reveal or see that the payment is refunded through Polar.
4. The number is entertainment, not a fact you can rely on
The count shown when you reveal is a snapshot of our tally at that moment, displayed for entertainment. It does not update afterwards; it changes only if you pay to reveal that tier again. We do not guarantee that any count is accurate, complete, current, or free of error, and we may correct, adjust, or reset the underlying counts at any time (an adjustment does not change a number already shown to you). Do not rely on any number shown by the game for any purpose.
5. Who may play
You must be at least the age of majority where you live (and in any case at least 18 years old) and legally able to enter this agreement and make a payment. Only pay using funds and payment methods that are lawfully yours to use.
6. Accounts and guests
You may play as a guest, in which case your play is linked to a random guest identifier stored in your browser. Your payments and reveals themselves are recorded on our servers under that identifier; if you clear your browser you lose the identifier and, with it, your access to that history (the records themselves remain in our system, as described in the Privacy Policy). You may also play with an account, in which case your history is saved to your profile.
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Provide accurate information when you register.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the game. That includes, without limitation: committing fraud or using a payment method that is not yours; abusing chargebacks; using bots, scripts, or other automated means to access the game or to manipulate, inflate, or distort the counts; attempting to access data or accounts that are not yours; reverse engineering or probing the site for vulnerabilities except as expressly permitted by law; and disrupting or overloading the service.
We may suspend or close any account, and withhold or remove access, if we reasonably believe these terms have been broken. No refund is owed in that case.
If you break these terms, for example by paying with a card that is not yours, disputing a charge for a reveal that was shown to you, or using bots to distort the counts, you agree to cover the losses and reasonable costs we suffer as a direct result, including payment-provider dispute fees.
8. Availability and changes to the game
How Many Paid is provided on an as available basis. We may change, pause, limit, or permanently discontinue the game, any tier, or any feature at any time, for any reason, without notice and without any liability or compensation to you. We do not promise that the game will remain available, and you are not owed anything if it ends.
9. No warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, How Many Paid is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, availability, accuracy, or non-infringement. You use the game at your own risk and for your own entertainment.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we accept no liability of any kind arising out of or relating to the game: not for direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, and not for any loss of money, profits, data, or goodwill. Because there is no return of any kind, you should treat every amount you pay as spent and gone.
To the extent any liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you for all claims relating to the game is limited to the total amount you paid for reveals (through our payment provider) in the three months before the event that gave rise to the claim.
11. Intellectual property
The How Many Paid name, design, text, graphics, and software are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from them except as allowed by these terms or by applicable law.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page. Your continued use of How Many Paid after a change means you accept the updated terms.
13. General
These terms are the entire agreement between you and us about How Many Paid and replace any earlier understanding. If any other wording in the game appears to conflict with these terms, these terms prevail. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If you are a consumer in a country whose law gives you mandatory protections, nothing in these terms takes those rights away.
14. Who we are and how to contact us
How Many Paid is operated by hindermost, an independent developer. Contact: support@howmanypaid.cash. If you have an account, we will use the email address on your account for notices to you.
